Inventure Foods: Snack Food Manufacturer

October 2, 2014

Inventure Foods manufactures and sells healthy/natural indulgent specialty snack food products in the United States and globally. I was founded in 1986 by brothers Jay and Don Poore. After selling their initial potato chips business they launched the Poore Brothers brand in Arizona.

Their kettle-cooked chip business grew and the company went public in 1996. After the IPO they began acquiring other companies. In 2006 the company changed its name to the Inventure Group, Inc. as it went from a regional to national marketer of snack foods. The company changed its name again to Inventure Foods, Inc. in May 2010. It is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.

Inventure Foods runs two segments, Frozen Products and Snack Products. The frozen products include Rader Farms frozen berries; Willamette Valley Fruit Company brand frozen berries; and more. It also manufactures private label frozen fruits.

Its snack products include snack food under the T.G.I. Fridays, Nathans Famous, and Vidalia brands; kettle cooked potato chips under the Poor Brothers and Bobs Texas Style brands and more.
