June 2, 2014

InvenSense, Inc. is a company that was founded in 2003 and based in San Jose, California. The firm has offices in China, Korea, Japan, Slovakia, Taiwan and Wilmington, Massachusetts. The smartphone, tablet, wearables, gaming devices, optical image stabilization and remote control for Smart TVs that you have may contain its products. InvenSense is the leading provider of MotionTracking™ sensor system on chip (SoC) and Sound solutions for consumer electronic devices. The firm designs and fabricates micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technologies. Its solution is made of an integrated circuit (IC) that incorporates motion sensors such as gyroscopes with associated software.

A number of industrial applications are also integrating the firm’s MotionTracking products. InvenSense’s patented InvenSense Fabrication Platform and patent-pending MotionFusion™ technology meet the growing requirements of numerous mass-market consumer applications through better performance, accuracy, and intuitive motion-, gesture-and sound-based interfaces.

The company’s products include 6-axis Motion Tracking System-on-a-Chip (SoC) devices for handheld and wearable consumer electronic products; ICM-20728 device, a 7-axis Motion Tracking SoC device that combines 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, and pressure sensor in the same silicon die; and the third generation of Digital Motion Processor (DMP) to process complex 9-axis MotionFusion algorithms.

InvenSense also offers ICS-40310, ICS-40720, ICS-40160 microphone devices. The firm sells products to manufacturers of consumer electronic devices, original design manufacturers, and contract manufacturers through a direct sales organization and indirect channel of distributors internationally.

MotionTracking is fast becoming an integral component in every consumer electronics device as it provides a more intuitive way for consumers to interact with their electronic devices by tracking their motions in free space and delivering these motions as input commands. Audio is likewise becoming complementary to motion as a means for interacting with contextually aware devices and applications. The company’s vision is to become the leading provider of sensor on chip (SoC) platform solutions offering an ‘AlwaysOn’ solution by allowing the most seamless sensing experience at the lowest power.

InvenSense is led by CEO and President Behrooz Abdi.
