NewPage: All About Paper
When it comes to paper many companies with printing and specialty paper needs turn to NewPage. It is the leading producer of these kinds of paper in North America. Its product offering of different kinds of paper is one of the largest in the paper industry.
The company is not one of those that simply distribute paper; it operates its own paper mills located in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. These paper mills are strategically located near top industry printers across North America making their products available to clients when they need them. Its mills produce around 3.5 million tons of paper annually.
NewPage has headquarters in Miamisburg, Ohio. The origin of the company goes back 150 years which goes to show the depth of its paper making experience. The present form of this company, NewPage was established in May 2005. Many large publishing companies count as its client such as McGraw-Hill and Time, Inc.
It has undergone some challenging years along with the rest of the industry. Despite its size it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2011 but the following year in December 21, 2012 NewPage announced that it had emerged from bankruptcy after a successfully financial restructuring. Its annual revenue was $3.5 billion at the end of 2012. This should give it needed funds to keep it afloat as a going concern and time to put new products in the market.
